Founded in 1938 at Jamaica, New York
by John Grim. A German immigrant who fled Europe prior
to World War Two. With a background in fabric and sewing,
and a contract with the New York City chapter of the
Boy Scouts of America to manufacture camping tents and
sleeping cots, he formed Jamaica Tent Company.

1940

Jamaica Tent Company starts to manufacture
larger tents for rentals, and for the next 45 years
will be the premier tent and party rental company in
the New York City Metro area

1955
|
|
|
Setting up tents in Long Island,
New York for CW Post College and The Piping Rock Club
horse shows. Jamaica Tent Company manufactures a wood
slat portable horse stall to accommodate the horses
that are participating in these shows

1971
|
|
|
With John Grim retiring, Jamaica
Tent Company is acquired by Joseph Sadler, an employee
for 16 years, and he immediately expands operations to
Southeast Florida to provide service to our Northern
customers that spend the winter in Florida
|
1973
|

|
Jamaica Tent Company opens an office
and warehouse in West Palm Beach, Florida, and in less
than 2 years has become the leading tent and party rental
company in the Palm Beaches.

1980

|
Jamaica Tent Company begins manufacturing
a solid side portable horse stall made of plywood
|
1988
|
|
|
Jamaica Tent Company sells its party
rental division and devotes all resources to equestrian
and large special events
|
1990

Alan Sadler is named President and
CEO
